Our research
SMARTER is bringing together leading experts, stakeholders, policy makers and communities to develop tools and nature-based solutions for systemic climate adaptation.
These co-designed solutions will be tailored to regions’ ecological and socio-economic needs, while being replicable and adaptable in other cities and regions to aid climate adaptation on a continental level.
Where we work
Our researchers are working closely with a network of 10 cities and regions in Europe, all facing their own climate risks. Through the SMARTER Climate Adaptation Labs, we're ensuring local economies, landscapes and cultures are central to our systemic adaptation research.
