In short: climate resilience is the capacity to cope with climate risks and impacts while maintaining the different functions of society, ecosystems and the economy.

Climate resilience refers to the capacity of different systems to cope with the impacts of hazardous climatic events while minimising the damage to societal wellbeing, the economy and the environment. Resilience measures consider how these systems - whether it’s a city, farm, business or ecosystem - can maintain their core functions and identities in the face of climate adversity.

Examples of climate resilience measures include climate dashboards that help farmers adjust planting based on weather and drought forecasts or urban green roofs that reduce heat and absorb stormwater.
